Online department store Debenhams has officially broken Black Friday search records. Thanks to its extensive third-party beauty offering, including bestselling Prada perfumes and Dyson's Airwrap, Debenhams trended on Google's search engine for 17 consecutive hours.

With two billion people utilising search engines on Black Friday, Debenhams is officially back on Britain’s radar. The once high street staple, exclusively online since 2021, is shaping consumer sentiment during the peak shopping season with its offering of over 10,000 beauty, fashion and homeware products.

Dan Finley, CEO of Debenhams and the Boohoo Group, said: "We are thrilled to see Debenhams resonate so strongly with consumers this Black Friday.

"Our commitment to providing exceptional quality and service has resulted in a great online shopping weekend, and we are excited to continue delivering value to our customers over the festive season."

The top trending Black Friday products included:

  • Prada Paradoxe Eau De Parfum
  • Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler and Dryer
  • YSL Black Opium Eau De Parfum
  • YSL Libre Eau De Parfum
  • Armani Stronger with You intensely Eau De Parfum

Last month, the retailer unveiled its Christmas campaign ‘Duh, Debenhams', enticing Christmas shoppers to ditch frenzied in-store shopping and opt for browsing online.

The story reveals Debenhams.com as the antidote to festive shopping chaos, nudging shoppers to ditch the crowds and opt to shop from the comfort of their sofas. The advert is "a cure to the season's stresses" featuring a star-studded sparkle-clad cast, as they browse the Debenhams marketplace.

Moving forward, Debenhams said it is "poised for further success" as the holiday shopping season wages on, ensuring it’s a "top choice for savvy shoppers seeking stylish apparel and unbeatable deals".
