The Fragrance Shop is now offering customers the possibility to pay using cryptocurrency, recognising it as one of the world’s fastest growing alternative payment methods.

The retailer partnered with crypto payment provider BitPay to offer the new option, alongside traditional payment options such as credit and debit card and a variety of buy now, pay later services.

BitPay allows customers to pay with cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ethereum and Shiba Inu, among others.

According to a study by Chainalysis, the UK was the leading European country in terms of crypto activity between June 2020 and July 2021, with £123 billion worth of digital assets received.

OffWhite also announced last week that it would introduce cryptocurrency payments at its stores in London, Paris and Milan. Authentic Brands Group, the new owners of Reebok, also recently announced that the brand would add cryptocurrency and NFT payments later this year.

Sanjay Vadera, CEO of The Fragrance Shop, said: “We at The Fragrance Shop are always keeping on top of advances in everything from fragrance trends to technology, with our end goal to make the shopping process as easy and enjoyable as possible for our customers from start to finish.

"We have been watching the cryptocurrency market grow and develop in the past few years, so now is the perfect time to introduce crypto payments into The Fragrance Shop – just one of the many ways to pay for your purchases with us online.”
