The Inkey List achieves B Corp certification
The Inkey List has achieved B Corp certification following three years of work "devoted to meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency".
Administered by nonprofit B Lab, B Corp is a certification that covers over 300 questions on governance, workers, communities and impact on the environment.
Through this journey, The Inkey List has become a carbon net zero certified brand. It has also introduced 100% "recycle-ready" product packaging, with all bottles and tubes now a minimum of 50% PCR, saving over 120 tonnes in virgin plastic.
In addition, The Inkey List has partnered with Ashoka, a non-profit organisation that "cultivates a community of positive changemakers". Through this partnership, the youth-led Inkey Impact Fund was created to drive system change in education.
The brand has supported the circulation of an eco-literary curriculum, created the Changemaker School Bus as a safe place for students to use as a hub, and supported the opening of the country’s first youth-led supplementary school in Manchester.
Colette Laxton and Mark Curry, Co-founders of The Inkey List, said: "We are beyond delighted to have been awarded B-Corp status, as we balance people and planet alongside our consumer mission of spreading the beauty of knowledge. We are so proud our business has been recognised for our no-compromise attitude to our social and environmental performance, and hope that we can help to inspire all companies be responsible - no matter how accessible your price point or how many units you strive to sell."
