The Ordinary publishes free white papers to educate consumers
The Ordinary, known for democratising skincare with high-quality products at remarkably low prices, is "bursting bubbles on industry misinformation" by releasing a series of free white papers that dispel mistruths that surround the beauty industry.
According to The Ordinary, paywalls are often gatekeepers of important information that could alter the entire industry. It can block beauty progress and make gathering knowledge about consumer goods trickier for consumers.
A searchable resource, with the original papers and explainers from scientists, will be available worldwide this January. They have been transparent with ingredient percentages, packaging labels and non-use of celebrities within marketing.
These open sources strive to create more consumer trust and community knowledge and push toward a more transparent beauty indusrty.
As part of its mission to democratise industry knowledge, the brand is hosting an “immersive” pop-up. ‘The Ordinary Unlocked’ is a free event that will run this weekend, from 25-26 January at Protein Studios in Shoreditch. Tickets are available here.
Pop-up goers are invited to “step into a world where science meets creativity” where they are invited to attend educational masterclasses, receive facials and discover the brand’s new launch – The Ordinary GF 15% Solution. The GF 15% Solution is an age-support serum that contains a 15% solution of growth factors to help minimize and repair visible skin damage to regenerate the look of aging skin.

This comes just five months after the skincare brand hosted its first-ever pop-up. The temporary retail spaces popped up in Selfridges stores to celebrate its entry into the body category. Here, The Ordinary team offered bespoke skincare consultations and will be on hand to educate shoppers about its new Body Care range.
