The Perfume Shop begins Christmas recruitment programme
The Perfume Shop has kicked off its Christmas recruitment programme to help meet demand during the peak trading period.
The British retailer will hire 750 temporary sales assistants between mid-September and October to supports its 196 stores across the UK.
As part of this, staff will receive the Real Living Wage pay rate at £13.15 per hour alongside sales commission, which saw colleagues earn more than £150 last year. Christmas sales assistants will also receive the company's 20% staff discount from day one.
Michelle Fellows, People & Development Director at The Perfume Shop, said: "We believe in creating the ultimate shopping experience for our customers all year round, but especially during the festive period.
"We believe in those that have positive energy, talent for team work, passion for perfume and creating a spark with customers. Lots of our store staff over the years have gone on to great success including those that now work in our head office also.
"This is a fantastic place to work through the festive season and it’s our teams who make it really special for our customers."
Last year, The Perfume Shop offered over 250 permanent roles to its Christmas sales assistants, with plans to offer more permanent roles to this year's temporary staff where available.
The news comes as investment in The Perfume Shop's omni-channel strategy continues to drive sales growth, with the high street chain continuing to strengthen the customer journey through its product and service offering, content, and delivery options.
In July, the retailer joined Deliveroo, allowing customers in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh to shop over 1,000 fragrances on the platform.
