The Perfume Shop is celebrating its 30th Birthday with a new commitment to sustainability, aiming to reduce 90% of its scope one, two and three emissions by 2030.

Working in partnership with other brands, the fragrance retailer has created three pledges to deliver by 2030, along with some other goals the retailer wants to achieve in the future.

The retailer has also committed to planting one million trees. In 2020, The Perfume Shop launched a partnership with the charity Eden Reforestation Projects, whereby for every perfume bottle recycled in store a tree is planted somewhere suffering from deforestation.

The Perfume Shop's third commitment will see the retailer removing 100,000 new bottles from circulation, by introducing more refillable bottles in-stores and continuing to grow its recycling scheme

The retailer's other goals include removing all single-use plastic by 2025, making all packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025 and reducing its energy intensity by 30% by 2030.

Michelle Fellows, The Perfume Shop’s People & Development Director, said: “We’re committed to doing everything we can to look after our people, our planet and our communities, particularly as we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year and look ahead to the future of The Perfume Shop. Our people are at the heart of the business and as such we’re pleased to have started 2022 making improvements to employee pay & benefits.”
