The Perfume Shop predicts most popular fragrances of Christmas 2023
The Perfume Shop has shared its predictions for the top 10 most popular fragrances this Christmas, with sales expected to reach record numbers over the festive period.
The retailer sold a record 1.77 million bottles between 28 November and 24 December 2022, boosted by a 26% rise in the sales of gift sets during the week before Christmas.
As it prepares for the 2023 festive season, The Perfume Shop anticipates fragrance sales to be "even greater" than last year.
Cult-favourites such as Dior Sauvage and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle are amongst the fragrances predicted to sell out this Christmas, as well as some newer scents that have quickly risen in popularity.
The top 10 predicted bestselling scents are:
- Dior Sauvage
- Mugler Alien
- Chanel Coco Mademoiselle
- Yves Saint Laurent MYSLF
- Jean Paul Gaultier, Gaultier Divine
- Rabanne 1 Million
- Burberry Goddess
- Prada Paradoxe Intense
- Rabanne Fame & Phantom Le Parfum
- Hugo Boss, Boss Bottled Elixir
Cathy Newman, Marketing & Customer Experience Director at The Perfume Shop, said: "We’re so pleased to see that some of the classic fragrances such as Rabanne and Dior continue to be the most popular with our customers, which is why they’ve made it into the top 10 list.
"With sales continuing to grow since launch, we’ve also seen newer scents such as Burberry Goddess and Prada Paradoxe become firm favourites ahead of the Christmas period. We can’t wait to see the overall sales results for this year.”
As the cost-of-living crisis continues, The Perfume Shop plans to support customers this festive season via various cost initiatives, including a number of fragrance deals and price freeze lines.
Newman added: "We knew that last year was going to be a tough one for many of our customers in the current climate and we’re expecting to see the same again this year as we continue with the cost-of-living crisis. We have lots of fragrance deals on offer in the lead up to Christmas day."
