Isamaya is known for breaking norms, first creating a phallic-shaped lipstick and now fusing the worlds of beauty and sports by teaming up with sportswear giant Nike.

Make-up Artist and Founder of her namesake brand, Isamaya Ffrench, has teamed up with Nike to create two exclusive colourways of the Air Max Dn inspired by beauty's "massive presence in women's sport today". The Isamaya Ffrench x Nike Air Max Dn will be available globally in beige and chocolate brown at Nike.com and in select stores on 20 December.

Isamaya Ffrench is one of the most recognisable British names in the beauty industry. She has worked as a Creative Director and consultant for a host of big-name brands including Byredo, Burberry and Tom Ford.

She drew inspiration from women athletes whose influence extends from the field of play to the fashion world when creating her rendition of the Air Max Dn.

"Female athletes show that you can have it all", Ffrench said.

"You can have prowess in sport. You can be at the top of your game. You can take an interest in your appearance. You can express yourself in as many ways as you want and still be a top athlete. Beauty doesn't undermine any of that. Beauty actually enhances it".

Ffrench's reimagined Air Max Dn silhouette includes a dual-chamber, four-tubed Nike Air unit to deliver unreal comfort packed in two bold colour palettes inspired by her beauty brand's offering.

"My favourite parts of the design are probably the rand and heel, where we were able to add metallic tones underneath a glossy acrylic, giving those parts of the shoe an even more extreme and textural look—juxtaposing them against the matt of the upper and sole", noted Ffrench.

Isamaya Ffrench, who also spotlights as Off-White's Beauty Curator, has been on a collaborative roll in recent months. In October, she teamed up with Lashify, the brand known for democratising at-home lash extensions, on a lash extension set. In celebration of the launch, the limited-edition set headed to the UK at Lashify's pop-up at Selfridges.
