Unilever is the largest producer of soap in the world and its products are available in around 190 countries. Its largest brands include Lynx, Dove, Persil, Lifebuoy, Sunsilk and Sunlight.
Unilever was founded on 2 September 1929, by the merger of the British soapmaker Lever Brothers and the Dutch margarine producer Margarine Unie.
