Lush

Lush launches eco-friendly mascara

Lush has launched its new Naked Mascara, formulated from a blend of butters and waxes to create a solid product which doesn’t require plastic packaging.

Available in four shades, Orca (black), Earth (brown), Reef (coral) and Ocean (blue), the Lush Naked Mascara adds a subtle tint and lift to the lashes.

The mascara contains ingredients including organic cocoa butter to help condition the lashes, Japan wax to define lashes and carnauba wax to create a lengthening effect.

Customers are also able to select a Lush mascara wand with their Naked Mascara purchase. With three wands available, the brushes are made from non-toxic, non-plastic and 100% renewable materials. The Lush mascara wands can also be returned to Lush shops nationwide to be processed at the brand's in-house recycling centre, the Green Hub.

Helen Ambrosen, Co-founder of Lush, said: "If there is one makeup product we can’t do without – it’s mascara. So it is right at the top of the list to create a more environmentally friendly way to enable us to use something we know and love. If you have used a block mascara before, this will be easy. If you haven’t – it’s a knack! So get the knack and make a difference."

Priced at £10, the Naked Mascara is available in-store now at Lush.

Kiehls

Kiehl's introduces new retinol night serum

Kiehl's has launched its new Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle-Reducing Night Serum, which features a clinically tested formula that penetrates up to 15 surface layers deep to begin accelerating skin surface turnover, visibly improving skin's appearance in as early as five days.

The 'fast-release' delivery system deposits a high concentration of pure retinol powder into the ultra-lightweight serum base, creating a fast acting 0.3% pure retinol serum to bring new, fresh skin to the surface and help address visible signs of ageing.

Kiehl's newest retinol advancement is packaged in a dual-sided component that allows the consumer to activate their formula by releasing a pure retinol powder capsule into the serum base.

Dr. Nancy Ilaya, Kiehl's Global Scientific Director, said: "With this packaging and formula release method, retinol is preserved and protected from degradation to ensure optimal potency and efficacy from the very first use. This enables the formula to be rapidly delivered into the skin and accelerate skin surface renewal and in turn expedites visible results."

Priced at £65, the Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle-Reducing Night Serum is available online and in-store at Kiehl's.
