Topicals appoints Fenty Beauty exec as new CEO
Topicals has appointed Sukiana Chancy as Chief Executive, with founder Olamide Olowe stepping down from the role to become Chair of the US skincare brand.
Chancy joins Topicals from Fenty Beauty, where she served as Global General Manager and Vice President for almost four years.
She also brings experience from Cay Skin, DevaCurl, The Estée Lauder Companies and Elizabeth Arden, where she held a number of senior marketing roles.
"I wanted to partner with someone who has worked their way up through marketing, built a global brand and managed a profit-and-loss sheet much larger than ours," Olowe told The Business of Beauty.
Commenting on her appointment, Chancy added: “This week, I entered my CEO Era with Topicals - a brand that I’ve been obsessed with since its launch in 2020.
"I am grateful to the full Topicals team for the warm welcome, and I am excited to work alongside Olamide Olowe to fan the flames on the dope brand that she’s geniusly built."
Chancy takes over as Topicals competes in a crowded skincare category shaped by established companies and younger, community-led brands targeting Gen Z consumers.
Olowe co-founded Topicals with Claudia Teng after both had initially planned careers in dermatology. The fast-growing brand aims to simplify skincare routines with clinically effective, multi-tasking products at accessible prices.
The brand launched in the UK with Sephora in April 2024 and currently stocks hero products such as Faded Brightening & Clearing Serum, High Roller Bump Relief & Soothing Tonic, Slick Salve Mint Lip Balm, Exfoliating Body Serum and more.
