Tropic furthers climate change fight with planting of new forest

Skincare brand Tropic has embarked on a new environment-focused partnership with Forestry England which will see it plant 7,000 trees in Hampshire’s South Downs.

The new partnership forms part of Tropic's ongoing Infinite Purpose journey to further the fight against the climate crisis.

The trees will be planted over the coming months in the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, in a location that has suffered from ash dieback and where 20 hectares of mature ash trees have had to be felled.

By working with the largest land manager in the UK, Tropic aims to nurture this forest for the next generation “and create impact where it’s needed most.”

Tropic founder, Susie Ma said: "I’m incredibly proud to announce Tropic’s partnership with Forestry England.

“Standing up and taking action against the climate emergency by growing a forest for the public to enjoy is our boldest at-home initiative yet – we're committed to creating a healthier and greener world, and that extends from the far corners of Asia's warmer climes to the rich wildlife right on our doorstep here in the UK.

“Our forests have given us so much, with the promise of a stroll in the fresh air having been such a source of solace during the coronavirus pandemic.

"It’s only right, then, that we take a stand to take care of them in their time of need, for our own and our planet's well-being."

Tropic’s support will also fund the addition of a nest cam in the New Forest, allowing ecologists to monitor and measure the development of a community of goshawks.
