UpCircle exceeds crowdfunding campaign goal
Ethical skincare brand UpCircle has exceeded the target for its crowdfunding campaign, which launched last month.
The campaign launched with investment platform Crowdcube to help boost UpCircle's growth, increase its product range and expand the brand's reach. With a target of £300,000, the campaign has now reached £451,047 and has 1427 investors.
Those who have invested have become shareholders in the company and can earn a return if the share value grows over time. The share price started from £1.62, with the company valued at £18 million.
Founded by siblings Anna and Will Brightman, UpCircle brings leftover natural ingredients back to life as skincare products. The brand's waste-fighting formulations are natural, vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, plastic negative, handmade and housed in recyclable and refillable packaging.
Anna Brightman, Co-founder of UpCircle, said: “We are so excited to have closed this round over funded by 150%. We've worked hard over the last six years to grow UpCircle responsibly, reinvesting into the brand as much as we possibly could. We've grown an incredible tribe of supporters that we fondly call our "UpCirclers". Their unwavering support is clearly shown in the success of this investment round and we're thrilled to welcome so many of our customers as official stakeholders.
"We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our waste-fighting mission. It means the world to us and we're extremely excited about what the future holds as a result of this new investment."
