Venus continues #MoveYourSkin campaign with Lioness Lotte Wubben-Moy
Venus has unveiled the next phase of its #MoveYourSkin campaign with Lioness and Arsenal Women's footballer Lotte Wubben-Moy.
Launched last summer, #MoveYourSkin aims to tackle the issue of skin consciousness, which has been identified as a major barrier in sport for women.
This year, the razor brand is launching a mobile exhibit showcasing “up close and comfortable” images to celebrate real skin in action.
The new photography series, shot by Lauren Macabee, has been installed in the football cage Wubben-Moy grew up playing in near her family home in Bow. It displays "powerful images and personal skin-stories of real women thriving in moments of sport".
Following the cage gallery launch, the exhibit will turn into a mobile gallery that will tour schools in Manchester throughout July, further extending the reach of the brand's in-school module – Validate It.
Validate It is a self-awareness, curriculum-based module, funded and created in partnership with Venus. It explores themes of body image and confidence, and has so far reached 200 young people across London and Manchester.
Olivia Hughes, Senior Communications Manager at Venus, said: “Nothing should hold women and girls back from playing sports and moving their bodies.
"With another big summer of sports for the women’s game, this is truly about continuing what we started last year. We’re so proud to have Lotte, alongside such a powerful line up of real women on and off the pitch, to help front this campaign with us and help redefine what real skin in sport looks like.”
