Victoria Beckham sparks beauty searches as fans copy documentary look
Following the release of her new documentary on Netflix, Victoria Beckham is once again shaping beauty trends - with her signature look experiencing an uplift in popularity.
Beckham’s hallmark hairstyle - the long bob, or LOB - is enjoying a comeback. "Her LOB works because it’s simple yet strategic," says Danielle Louise, a beauty expert at Fresha.
"It’s a blunt, mid-length cut that creates the illusion of fuller, healthier hair. It looks polished but requires minimal daily styling - making it a popular choice for women seeking an impactful change without committing to a shorter cut."
Equally notable is the transformation of Beckham’s smokey eye. While she has long been associated with dramatic, statement-making makeup, today’s version is more refined and wearable.
According to Google search data analysed by Fresha, searches for "Victoria Beckham smokey eye" have surged 214% in the past week alone, generating over 9,000 searches in the past month.
"Her updated smokey eye leans into soft brown tones and a lived-in, diffused texture," explains Louise. "It’s sultry without being overpowering. The look features blended liner, natural-looking lashes, and a nude lip to maintain balance - all contributing to a sophisticated, everyday glam that resonates with modern consumers."
Beckham’s influence goes beyond aesthetics - it reflects a broader shift in consumer preferences toward understated elegance.
"She has mastered a beauty formula that feels timeless," adds Louise. "It’s structured but never rigid, minimal but never plain. It’s a quiet confidence that speaks volumes - and that’s exactly what clients are asking for in salons and makeup chairs today."
Victoria Beckham’s new Netflix documentary offers an intimate look at her evolution from pop icon to respected fashion designer and beauty brand founder, centring around her preparations for a high-stakes Paris Fashion Week show.
Directed by Nadia Hallgren, the three-part series blends behind-the-scenes fashion business pressures with personal reflections on body image, public perception, and identity beyond the 'Posh Spice' persona, featuring contributions from David Beckham, Anna Wintour, and other industry voices.
Beckham launched her eponymous fashion label in 2008, later venturing into the beauty industry with Estée Lauder before launching Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019.
Founded on the idea that "beauty should complement and empower the dynamic life you lead", she set out to create a new standard of clean luxury, with high-performing, cruelty-free, and sustainably minded makeup and skincare products.
In 2023, the former Spice Girl also entered the fragrance category for the first time with three scents. Created in collaboration with master perfumer Jérôme Épinette, the genderless, artisanal fragrances were inspired by particular eras in her life.
