‘We're actually talking about it’: Zara Larsson hints at possible make-up brand

Swedish pop star Zara Larsson has said she is in early discussions about a make-up venture with her artist Sophia Sinot, a move that would bring one of music’s most recognisable current beauty signatures into the celebrity cosmetics market.

In an interview on Capital FM, Larsson confirmed the idea is on the table but still at an early stage. “We’re actually talking about it. Nothing has really happened so far, if I’m being honest,” she said.

She credited Sinot as the creative force behind the concept: “She’s an artist in her craft, and the way she does my face - like I’ve tried, I can’t replicate it. She knows exactly what she wants, she knows how to do it, she knows what type of product she would like.”

Larsson also pointed to the model she finds most appealing, citing Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs as a reference. “If I would do something, that’s what I like about Lady Gaga’s brand. I feel like it’s a collaboration with her and her make-up artist,” she said.

A beauty identity already built

Larsson’s position is well placed, as her evolving fashion and beauty aesthetic has already gained significant traction online. Across her Midnight Sun Tour, the looks created by Sinot have been widely shared and recreated, defined by bright colour, shimmer, rhinestones, blush draping and glossy lips layered over a sun-kissed base.

After several years in which pared-back, minimal complexion looks dominated social feeds, consumer interest has swung back toward maximal colour cosmetics, Y2K-coded shimmer and playful embellishment. Larsson and Sinot have become visible expressions of that shift, with tour looks ranging from crystal-studded lids to neon shadow and loose glitter layered across the face and body.

It comes as fellow celebrity brands such as Rare Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Haus Labs have all established strong positions in the celebrity beauty category.

Haus Labs, the comparison Larsson herself raised, relaunched in 2022 with Sephora and was structured around the creative input of Lady Gaga’s make-up artist, Sarah Tanno, as global artistry director.

An artist-collaboration model could give a Larsson line a sharper entry point than name recognition alone. Sinot techniques are already being shared and followed by fans, and that influence could help define the products.

There are signs of fan appetite, too. Social posts imagining what a Larsson beauty line might look like have circulated on TikTok and LinkedIn, with one user writing, “I got tired of waiting for Zara Larsson to drop a beauty line, so I designed it myself.”

If Larsson and Sinot do move forward, they already have a clearly identifiable direction.
