Westfield to explore future of beauty in new pop-up with Isamaya Ffrench

Retail destination Westfield is launching a beauty-focused experience called The Future Studio, a new event designed to explore how beauty and wellness might evolve by the year 2050.

Hosted first at Westfield Stratford from 17-19 October, and then at Westfield London from 24-26 October, the activation will feature interactive installations, masterclasses, and emerging technologies from beauty brands and innovators.

At the heart of The Future Studio is a creative collaboration with makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench, known for her experimental and artistic approach to beauty. Her specially developed concept, The Face of 2050, will debut during a live masterclass on Friday 17 October at Westfield Stratford.

During the session, Ffrench will demonstrate a futuristic makeup look and discuss the cultural, environmental, and technological trends that informed its design.

Visitors to the pop-up will also be able to explore a range of interactive experiences, including:

  • The Beauty Forecast with Clinique - A skincare analysis station using Clinique’s Clinical Reality technology to assess skin condition and provide personalised recommendations.
  • The Futurebooth - An augmented reality (AR) installation where attendees can try on digital makeup looks and experiment with future beauty trends virtually.
  • The Lab with Nourished - A personalised wellness station where guests can build their own "gummy stack" of 3D-printed vitamins and nutrients based on individual lifestyle needs.

The event is designed to be both engaging and educational, offering insights into how beauty may adapt to factors like climate change, digital identity, and advances in biotechnology.

While the concept of The Face of 2050 includes elements like iridescent "mirror skin" and mood-responsive lip gloss, the event also focuses on accessibility, with all featured products available from retailers at Westfield.

According to Katie Wyle, Managing Director of Customer & Retail Operations at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, the pop-up is part of a broader effort to bring innovation directly to consumers.

"The Future Studio, part of Westfield Days, is the perfect place to see innovation in action. It’s a bold, inspiring glimpse of how beauty could evolve in the years ahead," said Wyle.

The Future Studio is free to attend and open to all visitors during centre hours at both Westfield Stratford and Westfield London.
