Why Grown Alchemist is investing in fewer, bigger brand partnerships

Grown Alchemist and Tomorrowland have entered a multi-year partnership that brings wellness into festival culture through a co-created product collection, supported by localised activations, including treatment experiences at the brand's UK flagship. The partnership forms part of Grown Alchemist's wider strategy of pursuing fewer, more impactful partnerships.

The collaboration collection, titled Reset Your Rhythm, is now available online and will launch at Tomorrowland Belgium on 17 July. It will reach UK consumers through Grown Alchemist's own channels and Cult Beauty.

Centred on a five-piece skin, body and haircare collection, the partnership builds on Tomorrowland's Elixir of Life fragrance, introduced by the festival in 2016 and now a recognisable part of its sensory identity.

Grown Alchemist has incorporated the fragrance into a range of formulations combining plant-powered biotechnology with adaptogenic ingredients, including MossCellTec, Reishi Mushroom Extract and bio-energising vitamins.

The range includes a Hydrating Elixir Mist, Hand + Body Wash, Hand + Body Lotion, Shampoo and Conditioner. A travel-sized set featuring all five products in a limited-edition toiletry bag is priced at £39.

In the UK, the partnership also extends to in-store wellness experiences. Grown Alchemist's Beak Street flagship in Soho, which opened in November 2024 as the brand's first standalone store outside Australia, is offering a post-festival recovery treatment menu throughout June, July and August.

The menu includes a Hands Up Hydrating Treatment, Feet Up Conditioning Treatment and Festival Reset Treatment, each incorporating products and the signature fragrance from the collaboration.

The Soho store already offers services including cryotherapy and IV infusion therapy, with the Tomorrowland-inspired treatments forming part of its existing wellness offering.

At Tomorrowland Belgium, festival-goers will be able to experience dedicated wellness activations and product discovery spaces. Artists and performers will have access to backstage wellness treatments, while guests staying in premium accommodation will receive bespoke amenities created as part of the partnership.

Claire Hennah, Chief Marketing & Digital Officer at Grown Alchemist, told TheIndustry.beauty: "I'm genuinely excited about it because it represents exactly the direction we're taking Grown Alchemist as a brand. We have never believed that skincare should only exist on a bathroom shelf. Our ambition is to become part of people's lifestyles and the moments that matter to them.

"Tomorrowland gives us an incredible platform to demonstrate that. It's one of the world's most immersive cultural experiences, bringing together a highly engaged global audience that values wellbeing, creativity and premium experiences. Those consumers already share many of the values our customers have.

"Extending the partnership wasn't about doing another event. It was about committing to building something over time. The most meaningful brand partnerships aren't one-off activations; they're platforms that evolve, deepen and become more authentic each year.

"That's why we've expanded our presence in the UK and are investing in a multi-year relationship. It allows us to move beyond sampling and into creating genuine experiences; from treatments and recovery spaces to retail and storytelling that reinforce what Grown Alchemist stands for."

With these activations, the brand aims to build long-term brand equity. It will look at traditional measures such as customer acquisition, engagement and retail performance, but its bigger ambition is to create an emotional connection with consumers.

"Longer term, this partnership helps position Grown Alchemist at the intersection of beauty, wellness and culture, which is where we believe premium beauty is increasingly heading," added Hennah.

"Consumers today discover brands very differently than they did five years ago. They don't simply walk down a beauty aisle; they discover brands through culture, through experiences and through communities they trust. For us, collaborations aren't about putting our logo on someone else's event.

"These kinds of collaborations allow us to build relevance in new audiences globally while strengthening loyalty with existing customers. When you combine product performance with memorable experiences, you create advocacy and advocacy is ultimately what builds enduring brands. That's why you'll continue to see us invest in fewer, bigger partnerships that have the potential to grow over multiple years rather than chasing short-term activations."

Grown Alchemist, founded in Australia in 2008, is available in more than 40 countries. The brand was acquired by L'Occitane Group in 2022 before being taken private in 2024 under Vice-Chairman André Hoffmann, with CEO Anna Teal retaining a minority shareholding.

The collection is available via grownalchemist.com, store.tomorrowland.com, Cult Beauty, Grown Alchemist stores worldwide and at the Tomorrowland festival.
