Battersea Power Station will host a 1950s-inspired hair and beauty pop-up as part of its one-year opening anniversary celebrations between 21-29 October.

Located in Turbine Hall B, the 'Power Parlour' hopes to transport visitors back to the 1950s, when the second half of the Grade II* listed Power Station was complete, through mid-century interiors and unique hair and beauty makeovers.

Visitors will be able to explore hair trends of the decade, including bold classic Hollywood glamour styles to chic 50’s waves by Blush + Blow London. London barbers R.W. Wolf will also offer various treatments and styling services.

Meanwhile, MAC Cosmetics will be on-hand to give visitors the "ultimate 50s glow-up" using the brand's range of beauty products.

Completing the experience, 1950s-inspired bar Control Room B will provide cocktails in partnership with Hendrick’s Gin and Atopia Non-Alcoholic Spirit for customers to enjoy.

The pop-up will be part of the ‘Behind the Bricks’ festival, which celebrates one year since Battersea Power Station opened to the public.

The nine-day festival will allow visitors to discover more about the London landmark’s rich heritage and transformation, including expert panel talks, guided tours, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

Following an eight-year restoration, Battersea Power Station opened to the public for the first time in history on 14 October 2022.

Forty years after the Power Station was decommissioned, the Grade II* listed building is now home to over 100 shops, bars, restaurants, 254 apartments, offices, leisure and entertainment venues.

As part of this, visitors can find a mix of premium, high street and small independent brands, including Me+Em, Zara, Aesop, Space NK, Hackett, Jigsaw, MAC Cosmetics and Jo Malone London.
