Boots hires former Asda exec as new Strategy & Transformation Director
Boots has appointed Preyash Thakrar as its new Strategy & Transformation Director as the British health and beauty retailer "embarks on a significant period of change".
Thakrar brings experience from his role as Chief Strategy & Customer Officer at supermarket chain Asda from 2017 to 2021.
He also previously served as Interim Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer at Royal Mail for six months, starting in November 2021, as well as various senior strategic roles at Walmart. Most recently, he worked as a partner at KPMG UK.
In a post on LinkedIn, Thakrar said: "I am delighted to confirm I will be returning to industry and joining Boots UK as Strategy & Transformation Director. I'm looking forward to working alongside Sebastian James, CEO, and the rest of the team.
"I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead our strategy, transformation, property and business tech transformation teams as we embark on a significant period of change for the Boots business and the industry as a whole. Fun times ahead!"
Earlier this year, Boots reported a 9.8% increase in sales for the quarter ending 30 November 2023. This was driven by a "strong" Black Friday period, which saw the health and beauty retailer achieve its biggest-ever month of online sales in November.
