Online beauty retailer Feelunique has been sold to French beauty and cosmetics giant Sephora.

Feelunique, which has grown to become a trailblazer in the online beauty space since its founding in 2005, has reportedly been “on the market” since the spring.

The deal, said to be worth £132 million, includes Feelunique’s online business and its three Channel Islands stores in Jersey and Guernsey.

Founded in 2005 by Aaron Chatterley, Feelunique’s website attracts around 140,000 visits a day with 18,000 products being shipped on a daily basis..

Sephora, which has 2600 stores globally, is owned by French fashion giant LVMH.

The deal, which is expected to be announced this week, would mark Sephora’s first big entrance into the UK.

In May, Asos was reported to be considering placing a bid for the online beauty retailer, with fast-growing THG also thought to be in the race.
