The Fragrance Shop focuses on international expansion after 'record-breaking year'
The Fragrance Shop has today announced a record-breaking year with sales boosted by 6.1% year-on-year and overall continuing business growth of 9.4% for the 12 months ending 1 April 2024.
The company credits its sales successes to its 13 new stores, including a flagship store that opened on Oxford Street in November and the launch of the UK’s first AI scent creation machine, Every Human.
Many of the brands in its portfolio of 150 fragrance brands saw increased sales, however, few stood on in particular. Barbour grew by 55%, Versace by 48% and Jean Paul Gaultier by 40% compared to the previous year.
Sanjay Vadera MBE, Chief Executive of The Fragrance Shop, said: "I’m very proud of the year we’ve had at TFS. Launching an experiential flagship store on Oxford Street that immerses our customers in a world of luxury and niche fragrances, as well as the UK’s first-ever AI scent creation machine, Every Human, has been a great success. We’ve also seen incredible growth within our membership program, MyTFS, which is now a thriving community of over one million members and has continued to expand our retail footprint across the UK with 13 new stores.
"This year, we will be celebrating a huge milestone - 30 years in business! We have plans to expand our store portfolio even further across the UK, as well as delivering continued growth of our MyTFS and scentaddict programs.
“We are already a CPD accredited business for all of our education programs and are now focusing on achieving ISO9001, which is the standard for quality management systems. This supports our ambition to grow into international markets.
"It’s a very exciting year ahead for us."
Established in 1994, The Fragrance Shop aims to make mainstream and luxury fragrances affordable and accessible. It currently operates 223 stores across the UK, with plans to surpass 300 locations over the next three fiscal years, as well as roll out to international markets.
