The Inkey List is taking its knowledge-based approach to skincare into the new category of body with two exfoliating products, launched under the umbrella of INKEY Body.

The pioneering British brand, which specialises in science-backed, results-focused products at accessible prices, has unveiled two new products, powered by chemical exfoliation, to tackle myriad body skin concerns.

INKEY Body includes a Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body and a PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Water Cream, which aim to bridge the knowledge gap of why chemical exfoliation is the key step that is missing in most body care routines, according to the brand.

Co-founder Colette Laxton said: "Exfoliation, we've all heard of it, in fact we already know that 94% of people are already exfoliating, but maybe not for the right reasons, and certainly not with the right products.

"With the launch of INKEY Body we're here to tell you that there's a better way, one that targets and improves multiple body skin concerns and is so easy-to-use, you can add it to your daily body care routine with no extra effort."

The Inkey List says chemical exfoliation is vital to encourage cell turnover and shed dead surface cells but it can also help address common concerns such as in-grown hairs or more niche concerns, including KP (Keratosis Pliaris, which gives the skin a bumpy texture).

Its Glycolic Body Stick (£15) promises to tackle stubborn concerns including KP bumps, ingrown hairs, rough skin and body breakouts in as little as seven days. Its formula contains 7% glycolic acid to exfoliate the skin, coupled with salicylic acid (0.5%) to help unclog oily pores and improve skin that is prone to breakouts and ingrown hairs. Finally nourishing shea butter (10%) has been added to soften, soothe and comfort skin.

The stick can be applied directly to the area of concern morning and night with no need to rinse off. Inkey is encouraging customers to find different ways of using it but says it is proven to target KP, body breakouts, ingrown hairs, dry, flaky and rough skin, discolouration and dark marks, rough elbows and needs, dry, hard and cracked heels.

Its PHA Exfoliating and Hydrating Water Cream (£13) is a two-in-one daily moisturiser, powered by 3% PHA, a dual-acting Polyhydroxy Acid, which gently and effectively exfoliates the skin's surface to help remove dead skin cells, while also acting as humectant, attracting moisture to the skin to increase hydration levels.

Its lightweight, non-comedogenic formula is instantly absorbed into the skin leaving no trace or sticky residue and is suitable for all skin types includes those prone to break-outs. As well as the 3% PHA the formula contains jojoba to soften and smoothe skin and rice bran to nourish and even skin tone.

"At The Inkey List, we give consumers the knowledge, power and innovative solutions to make better decisions. Most people do not know or understand the difference between facial and body skincare and the implications of treating them or not treating them," explained co-founder Mark Curry.

"We know that exfoliation is a necessity and not a luxury so we want to help consumers gain a deeper understanding of body care and provide them with the solutions they need to solve and prevent body concerns," he added.

The Inkey Body range is available from theinkeylist.com and Boots.
