Unilever strengthens haircare portfolio with Nutrafol acquisition

Unilever has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in haircare wellness brand Nutrafol.

The consumer goods company already held a minority stake of 13.2% in Nutrafol through Unilever Ventures. Terms of the deal were not publicly disclosed and the acquisition is still subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.

Nutrafol offers a range of clinically tested, physician-formulated products designed to address thinning hair and compromised hair health for women and men, at various life stages.

Within its products, the brand uses its patented Synergen Complex, which comprises of medical-grade nutraceutical ingredients that target multiple root causes affecting hair health including hormones, stress, lifestyle, metabolism, nutrition and ageing.
