L'Oréal Groupe’s NYX Professional Makeup has announced the appointment of Denée Pearson as Global Brand President to drive the global growth of the digitally native brand.

The appointment, effective 1 September 2023, will see Pearson take the reins from Yann Joffredo, who has served as the Global Brand President since 2018. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving NYX Professional Makeup's global business growth while evolving the brand into a digital-first powerhouse label.

Pearson joins NYX with over 20 years of experience in the ephemeral beauty industry. Prior to joining NYX, she had an illustrious career at beauty giant L'Oréal. First starting as an intern in 2001, she worked her way up the ranks at brands including Lancôme and Maybelline.

She then moved to NYX in 2019, taking the helm as the Senior Vice President of Global Brand Innovation. In this position, she led the Global Marketing, Product Development, Artistry and Social Media teams. Under her leadership, the brand revamped its innovation strategy, resulting in a new portfolio of high-quality products, such as the Fat Oil Lip Drip.

During this time, she was also instrumental in propelling the brand into a category known as the beauty "brand of entertainment". This saw NYX land partnerships with leading Hollywood studios including Netflix's "Casa De Papel", Disney's "Avatar: The Way of Water" and Warner Bros. Discovery's "Barbie The Movie".

Earlier this year, NYX brought its collaboration with Barbie The Movie to life by serving up a slice of beach paradise with a Barbie-themed pop-up in London's Covent Garden. Until 16 July, the pop-up promoted the brand's limited-edition collection.
