The number of department stores in Britain looks set to fall below 1,000 next year for the first time in decades as the future for these retail giants looks increasingly grim.
Eighty-two department stores closed their doors this year, making it the worst year since 2016 when BHS collapsed, according to new analysis for The Telegraph by the Local Data Company.
