Professional skincare brand Dermalogica has been recognised for the third time as a recipient of the Princess Royal Training Award.

Now in its eighth year, The Princess Royal Training Awards honours organisations showing "exceptional commitment to learning and development, with clear evidence of the impact on the organisation and its people".

Dermalogica has achieved the award alongside 53 other organisations across the UK and Ireland; the only skincare business to be recognised in 2023.

The brand has been recognised for its Upskill Programme, which was developed in response to the rise in popularity of advanced skin services and aesthetics procedures.

The initiative, which is fully funded and programmed within work hours, enabled 44 Dermalogica Educators and Skin Therapists to achieve regulated qualifications in Skin Peeling and Microneedling in 2022.

As the industry seeks to regulate non-surgical cosmetic procedures through a licensing scheme, Dermalogica continues to focus on "leading the way on practice standards and supporting skin therapists to advance their skillsets".

Candice Gardner, Education Manager at Dermalogica, said: "This year’s award is particularly poignant for us as it centres on developing aesthetic skills for skincare professionals – the heart of Dermalogica.

"As the industry works to regulate and license in response to the Health and Social Care Bill, Dermalogica has not only taken a clear stand on the importance of being a qualified professional, but has sought to lead by example and demonstrate how investing in learning and development can benefit everyone – skin therapists, business and clients.

"This programme has given our teams confidence, competence, credibility and career progression. We are incredibly proud of the success of the program and of everyone who achieved their qualification."
