Dolce & Gabbana is to bring its beauty business in-house - controlling the development, manufacturing and distribution of its fragrance and make-up products, according to the Financial Times.

Japanese beauty group Shiseido had been in control of the beauty division since 2016, but last year announced it would be partially ending the licensing agreement in December 2021.

The new Dolce & Gabbana Beauty company aims to create a global workforce of 350-500 people, starting with a smaller goal of 150 by the end of the year. The Italian Luxury group also plans to invest £252 million into the venture.

The newspaper reports that Dolce & Gabbana's Chief Executive, Alfonso Dolce, said the company aims to grow its annual beauty retail sales by more than £843 million (€1 billion) to £2.1 billion (€2.5 billion) in seven years.
