Dyson plans to launch 20 new beauty products by 2026, as part of its £500 million investment to accelerate research and technology development across its beauty portfolio.

The investment will also create new lab spaces to help sharpen Dyson’s understanding of global hair types and damage, as well as support the continued diversification of the brand's beauty technology.

In a statement, Dyson said: "Across Dyson’s four technology campuses, 6,000 engineers and scientists have access to hundreds of laboratories. These spaces allow for rigorous testing of new ideas and technologies 24 hours a day.

"For too long, there has been both a misunderstanding and misrepresentation across styling tools to truly cater for different hair types, while preserving hair from heat damage. Developing technology for all hair types remains a crucial focus for the research and development teams."

Dyson has built up a reputation in the haircare technology market in recent years. Six years ago, Dyson first launched its Supersonic hairdryer, which uses fast airflow and intelligent heat control to quickly dry hair, whilst keeping it strong and healthy.

Since then, the brand has developed a whole range of styling tools engineered to provide styles for all hair types, limiting exposure to extreme heat damage. This includes the Dyson Airwrap multi-styler, which is often sold-out online.

In July 2022, Dyson held its first national Styling Tour, bringing its range of haircare technologies to consumers across the UK. The tour showcased the brand's full portfolio, offering hair diagnostics, personalised recommendations, demonstrations and support from Dyson experts.

Last month, the brand unveiled its Vinca Blue & Rosé colourway across all of its hair tools, launching exclusively for the 2022 gifting season. The new colourway was the outcome of Dyson's latest exploration of unique finishes.
