Beyonce

Everything we know about Beyoncé’s new haircare line

It's been a busy few weeks for Beyoncé, having released two new singles alongside the debut of her new haircare line, Cécred.

Inspired by growing up and helping out in her mother's salon, the brand prioritises the needs of textured hair and other hair types that lack strength and moisture. It launched this week with eight products, including a Clarifying Shampoo, Scalp Scrub, Moisture Sealing Lotion, Nourishing Hair Oil, and Reconstructing Treatment Mask.

The Grammy award-winning artist is the latest celebrity to launch a beauty brand, following in the footsteps of Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty, Hailey Bieber’s Rhode and Ariana Grande's R.E.M. Beauty, amongst many others. At least Knowles-Carter has chosen haircare rather than entering the highly saturated celebrity skincare and makeup space. Will this be the next Fenty Beauty or Kylie Cosmetics? Who knows, but it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Mary Greenwell

The Interview: Makeup artist Mary Greenwell on the early years of London Fashion Week

My pick this week goes to an interview with legendary makeup artist Mary Greenwell conducted by our News Editor & Senior Writer.

I'm a huge fan of Greenwell and have spent more time than is healthy watching her Instagram tutorials; she is my kind of makeup artist and I love that she uses relatively few products and, for the most part, her fingers to create her looks. (Please do more tutorials, Mary!).

She is best known these days for her work with celebrities and, in particular, Cate Blanchett but in the early days of London Fashion Week, which is celebrating 40th birthday, Greenwell was a backstage fixture and worked on some of the most memorable shows in its history.

In this interview she recounts those early experiences and what she thinks of the current catwalk trends. Enjoy...

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham teased new skincare launch with celebrity facialist Melanie Grant

Victoria Beckham may have taught us the meaning of 'girl power' in the 1990s, but in the 2020s, she's teaching us about the power of cosmetics.

Beckham launched her fashion business in 2011, but it wasn't until 2019 when she launched a cosmetics line that revenues began to pick up. The beauty empire reportedly made almost £2 million in its first three months and has since continued to drive substantial business growth.

Now, nearly five months after launching into fragrance, Victoria Beckham is once again expanding her eponymous beauty line. This time, with two new skincare products. Revealing the plans on Instagram, Beckham was joined by celebrity facialist and aesthetician Melaine Grant to discuss the up-and-coming launch.
