Procter & Gamble (P&G), the owner of Olay and Gillette, has appointed Ashley McEvoy to its Board of Directors.

McEvoy most recently served as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Chairman of MedTech under Johnson & Johnson's medical devices business.

As part of this role, she led the business’ entrance into telehealth, robotics and digital surgery, as well as the deployment of more than $20 billion in M&A activity in recent years to grow the business portfolio.

She also previously held management roles across Johnson & Johnson's vision care, Ethicon Products and McNeil Consumer Healthcare units.

Jon Moeller, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO at P&G, said: "Ashley’s transformative leadership, track record of innovation and breadth of experience in serving consumers and growing markets will be an asset to P&G.

"Her expertise will further strengthen the capability of our board as we improve the lives of consumers around the world."

P&G serves consumers around the world with its portfolio of brands, including Always, Gillette, Olay, Oral-B, Pampers, Pantene, and Head & Shoulders.

Earlier this year, the company reported a 6% increase in sales for the first quarter ending 30 September 2023, revealing growth across all segments.

It saw beauty segment sales rise 5%, with skincare, haircare, personal care, and grooming helped by higher pricing.
