Breast Cancer Awareness Month: 9 beauty buys supporting good causes
A wave of pink products washing over the beauty world can only mean one thing: Breast Cancer Awareness Month is back.
This October, with the Barbie pink trend still going strong, a number of beauty brands are supporting the annual initiative through product launches and charity donations.
From nail polish and makeup to skincare and hair tools, here’s a pick of this year’s charitable beauty buys…
Mavala
For the third year running, Mavala has launched its limited-edition Power of Pink range of skincare and nail varnishes, with £1 from the sale of each product going to the Pink Ribbon Foundation.
Trinny London
Trinny London supports breast cancer awareness with its Lip2Cheek pots. Named after Trinny London customer Sherin, who is living with secondary breast cancer, the shade is a warm brown. For every pot sold, 10% of sales are donated to Breast Cancer Now.
Bobbi Brown
Bobbi Brown has launched a Powerful Pinks Crushed Oil Infused Gloss Duo, bringing together two botanical oil-infused pink hues - In The Buff and Slow Jam - with proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Clinique
Clinique has launched a limited-edition version of its Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator in new pink packaging. For every pot of the day cream sold, £10 will be donated to the BCRF.
Philip Kingsley
Inspired by trichologist Philip Kingsley’s wife’s battle with breast cancer, the brand's No Scent No Colour Duo Shampoo and Conditioner are formulated for use during chemotherapy. For every bottle sold, 50p goes to cancer charity Look Good Feel Better.
Estee Lauder
Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair launched back in 1982. Still a bestseller, the usually brown bottle has received a Pink Ribbon transformation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a 20% donation from sales going to BCRF.
Elemis
Elemis has chosen its Pro-Collagen Rose Micro-Serum to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a dual-phase serum that works to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce the appearance of fine lines. For every serum sold, the brand will donate £10 to Look Good Feel Better in support of its workshops and services.
Jo Malone
A long-time supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jo Malone has this year introduced a special-edition of its classic Peony And Blush Suede Cologne, with £20 from every bottle sold going to the BCRF.
GHD
GHD's is giving £10 from each sale of its limited-edition marbled pink Platinum+ Styler to Breast Cancer Now. The hair tool also includes a self-check reminder, so that users remember to "Take Control Now" and check their breasts.
