Estée Lauder announces retirement of Cedric Prouvé
After 27 years with The Estée Lauder Companies, Cedric Prouvé, International Group President, has made the decision to retire from next year.
Effective 30 June 2022, the successor to Prouvé's role will be announced shortly. Prouvé will partner with this individual starting in February 2022 to support a smooth and successful transition.
Cedric Prouvé joined Estée Lauder in 1994 as General Manager for travel retail worldwide in the APAC region and was soon given the responsibility of GM for the Singapore affiliate. Prior to his promotion to Group President International, he was the President and GM of the Japan affiliate.
Recognised as a global leader, Prouvé oversees the beauty brand's international business, including all sales and profits outside of North America.
Under his leadership, ELC’s international business has grown from approximately 43% of the business to approximately 77% of the business in fiscal year 2021. The company has also expanded to over 35 affiliates, doing business in over 150 countries and territories across the beauty brand's international footprint.
Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer at Estée Lauder, said: “In a rapidly-changing industry, Cedric’s strategic vision, inspiring leadership style and unique team-building abilities have been integral to the success of ELC’s International business and we are well-positioned for future growth.
“I have greatly enjoyed my close partnership with Cedric over the years and I would like to thank him for leading our International organisation with a great blend of enthusiasm, thoughtfulness and kindness. His positive energy, dynamic style, caring nature and deep international expertise will be truly missed.”
