Glamglow has joined Smashbox Cosmetics in becoming the second Estée Lauder brand to announce plans to leave the UK market later this year.

Both brands will no longer accept new orders in the UK and Ireland from 29 September 2022, attributing the decisions to an "accumulation of challenges".

Glamglow is an American skincare retailer based in California, founded in 2010 by Glenn and Shannon Dellimore. In January 2015, Glamglow was acquired by beauty conglomerate Estée Lauder Companies.

The brand is known for its range of skincare including its bestselling Glow Starter Mega Illuminating Moisturiser and YouthMud Glow Stimulating Treatment.

In a post on Instagram, Glamglow said: "Thank you for your support and kindness and know that we will continue to trade in other select markets globally."

A spokesperson from The Estée Lauder Companies, said: "ELC is committed to ensuring that it is focused on investing its resources into the most strategic long-term growth opportunities and value creation globally.

"Over recent years, GlamGlow’s sales have been impacted by changes in the brand’s retail space and location, combined with competitive challenges in key subcategories and we have had to make the difficult decision to cease selling the brand in the UK & Ireland. GlamGlow will continue to sell products in select markets around the world."
