Perfect Corp., a leading artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) beauty tech solutions provider, has introduced a free makeup virtual try-on programme for small and minority-owned beauty brands.

The 'Small Business Beauty Tech Accelerator' programme will provide qualifying women or minority-owned beauty brands with up to 6 months of free access to its virtual try-on technology for colour cosmetics.

Having successfully scaled from a startup in 2015, Perfect Corp.’s AR virtual try-on technology has since grown to help over 500 brands to modernise the customer experience. After partnering with Perfect Corp, many brands across the globe reported up to 2.5x increased sales, 40% increased average order values and significantly fewer product returns.

The new programme’s aim is to democratise access to innovative AI, AR and digital technologies in the retail space, transforming small beauty brands’ direct-to-consumer experiences.

Perfect Corp.’s try-on solution allows brands to digitise their offerings across seven product categories including foundation, mascara, lip colour, blush, eyelashes, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. Customers are able to try on beauty products virtually to discover their perfect shade. It has been proven to boost both customer satisfaction and purchasing confidence.

Alice Chang, CEO and Founder of Perfect Corp., commented: "As AR and AI technology becomes an essential tool to engage consumers and provide personalised shopping experiences, our mission is to democratise access to these transformative digital innovations and make these tools accessible to brands of all sizes.

"With these powerful solutions, brands can reimagine the consumer experience, provide personalized beauty to all, and unlock new opportunities for growth."

Last year, Perfect Corp. introduced a new virtual try-on technology for hairstyles. The solution uses advanced AI technology, including machine learning and Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), to help brands and hair salon businesses provide customers with hyper-realistic hairstyle simulations.
