The Perfume Shop has secured accreditation as a real living wage employer, highlighting its commitment to "ensuring all staff are paid fairly, feel rewarded and valued".

Awarded by the Living Wage Foundation, the accreditation comes amid the cost-of-living crisis in the UK.

The Perfume Shop's teams can now also earn commission during key trading periods, with managers participating in an annual bonus scheme to ensure that performance is rewarded.

Other benefits include staff discounts and an Aviva Digicare+ Workplace benefit for all staff to access virtual GP services, mental health support and lifestyle advice.

In addition, The Perfume Shop is committing to employee development by offering career development opportunities through apprenticeships, internal management training programmes and vocational learning via the British Retail Consortium and Fragrance Foundation qualification programme.

Gill Smith, Managing Director at The Perfume Shop, said: "We wanted to implement the real living wage to recognise the value of our store teams to the business.

"Formal accreditation by the real Living Wage Foundation has been a long-held ambition of ours. It demonstrates our commitment to, and care for, our teams at a time of unprecedented cost-of-living pressures and it was the right thing to do.”

Last month, The Perfume Shop reported an "outstanding" sales period for Father’s Day, with a record 224,000 bottles sold over 14 days in the run up to 18 June 2023. This equates to approximately 11 bottles sold every minute.
