This month saw a variety of new beauty launches across the UK, from new brand launches and retail expansions, to tech and product innovation. TheIndustry.beauty has curated a round-up featuring April's highlights from businesses including No7, Estée Lauder and Coty.
Launches at UK retailers
Laneige expands UK retail presence with Space NK deal
Korean skincare brand Laneige expanded its retail footprint in the UK, launching at 51 Space NK stores nationwide. Founded in 1994 in South Korea and launched in Europe in 2019, Laneige is dedicated to creating smarter skincare solutions having spent over 25 years "unlocking the secrets" to hydrated and healthy skin.
Haircare disrupter Briogeo launches at Selfridges
New York-founded haircare label Briogeo continued its European expansion. Already stocked at beauty retailers including Sephora, Cult Beauty and Space NK, the brand announced its launch at Selfridges after garnering a mass UK following.
Estée Lauder returns to Debenhams as it announces website refresh
Appearing on its refreshed website, Debenhams announced the return of Estée Lauder to its online beauty offering. The launch of Estée Lauder at Debenhams, which was previously a "firm favourite and bestseller" with the retailer's customers, features a selection of products across skincare, makeup and fragrance.
New brands
Almora Botanica launches with natural adaptogenic skincare offering
Almora Botanica, a new natural skincare brand that combines Ayurvedic teachings with modern science and adaptogenic ingredients, has launched for the first time with seven products to help prevent and repair skin damage. The formulations contain 98.5% to 100% natural ingredients, sourced from the "highest quality and cleanest possible sources".
Charlotte Knight's I Am Proud expands into bodycare
British beauty company I Am Proud entered the bodycare category with the launch of its new line, Body Proud. The new range features four categories: Brighten, Hydrate, Recharge and Proud to Care. These include cleansers, moisturisers, oils, an exfoliating serum, overnight mask and duck-shaped body brush.

Coty develops digitalisation strategy with new internal metaverse for employees
Coty partnered with 3D social platform Spatial to develop an internal metaverse for its 11,000 global employees. Launching this autumn, the Coty Campus hopes to upskill the company's global workforce and "empower future innovation" for its broad portfolio of brands.
Prada enhances latest fragrance campaign with AI
Prada used artificial intelligence to create a series of visuals for its latest fragrance campaign. The campaign is an "invitation to explore the convergence of visual perception and photographic illusion with artificial intelligence". It reinterprets five of Prada'a bestselling scents, including Prada Paradoxe, Luna Rossa Ocean, Infusion d’Iris, L’Homme and Amber Femme.
First ever Metaverse Beauty Week to launch this June
A "first-of-its-kind" Metaverse Beauty Week announced its launch in June, allowing brands and consumers to experience beauty through a series of virtual Web3 experiences. Developed by creative agency CULT, the festival will take place between 12-16 June 2023. It will be held across multiple metaverse platforms, including Spatial, Roblox and Decentraland.
No7 unveils new collection featuring "world-first" peptide technology
Following the unveiling of its "world first" peptide technology last month, No7 launched four new products to help reverse the appearance of multiple signs of skin damage. The collection includes No7's new "super peptide" blend for the first time, representing the "biggest cosmetic science innovation" in the brand’s history.
Coty launches 'world first' fragrance using 100% carbon-captured alcohol
Coty introduced its first globally distributed fragrance manufactured using alcohol from 100% recycled carbon emissions. The product uses CarbonSmart alcohol from Coty’s partner LanzaTech, who capture carbon from industrial emissions and transforms it into alcohol for use in fine fragrances.
Unilever champions growth and innovation as it completes cloud migration
Unilever partnered with Accenture and Microsoft to deliver "one of the largest cloud migrations in the consumer goods industry" to help ensure "secure and optimised" operations. This hopes to "significantly improve" the group's business resilience, strengthen security and enhance control of the IT landscape to drive innovation and growth.
